prettify symbols

2018-03-13 17:49:40

Emacs has a prettify symbols mode which shows certain words as other symbols(only graphically, the text is still there), for example the default is to show the word lambda as the lambda symbol and you can add more.

Is there a plugin that does that for vim?

Thank you.

Has anyone gotten java language server to work?

2018-03-13 14:58:57

I've tried both

I'm running the Eclipse server with

#!/bin/sh java \ -Dosgi.bundles.defaultStartLevel=4 \ \ -Dlog.protocol=true \ -Dlog.level=ALL \ -noverify \ -Xmx1G \ -jar $HOME/plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.5.0.v20180119-0753.jar \ -configuration $HOME/config_mac \ --add-modules=ALL-SYSTEM \ --add-opens java.base/java.util=ALL-UNNAMED \ --add-opens java.base/java.lang=ALL-UNNAMED

But it doesn't seem to work well at all (particularly with any other third-party jars on the classpath). I'm just wondering if it's possible to get the same level of functionality as in vim.

Vim colours very different inside tmux

2018-03-13 11:05:10

This seems to be a very popular problem on the Internet but none of the answers I have found seem to help.

On the left, is a tmux instance, on the right is a normal vim instance

I have tried all combinations of setting default-terminal and terminal-overrides to enforce the $TERM type, but the colours inside Tmux are never correct.

$TERM inside Tmux: screen-256color

$TERM outside Tmux: xterm-256color

My dotfiles:

Mac OS: 10.13.3

Tmux: 2.6

Vim: 8.0

iTerm: Build 3.1.6beta3

does anybody do programming for embedded devices?

2018-03-13 00:17:49

I've programmed arduinos for some time now, and I wanted to branch out into some more microcontrollers, but I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the options when it comes to workflow.

At the moment, I'm writing in Vim, then just pasting it into the arduino IDE, which is an obviously horrible -
